This is my look today.

After many years of hearing its good name, I finally started watching Sex and the City, the so-called relationship bible. I am glad that I didn’t watch Sex and the City any earlier until recently given that I come from a more conservative background that does not believe sex is a good thing before marriage. After living in Australia for over 8 years, I can finally respect the phenomenon in the story, and the Australian dating market even without fully appreciating and understanding it. Now I can learn from it without being overly judgmental.

Of course, love is one of the key elements in a relationship that leads to a marriage. But just love is not enough, otherwise there won’t be so many breakups. One thing I learned is that I didn’t realise that there are so many reasons why a relationship didn’t work out. In other words, dating, especially finding the right person to marry is a lot more difficult than I thought, despite that I did not personally experience that many issues/problems in my recent relationship. Maybe that was a sign that the person was mostly right and I was lucky.

I think that every woman/maybe guy as well, who has been through some relationships can find something in this show that they can relate to. Maybe that’s why Sex and the City is the so-called relationship bible because it gives us examples of as many…
